| | Really Fun and Entertaining Movie! | |
Bah! Humbug! To all the negative reviews. Forget the comparisons to Ground Hog Day which bites anyway. This movie is fun and amusing and has a great ending. It's part of my Christmas collection and I look forward to watching it every year with family and friends during the holiday season. Even the little ones enjoy it too! Some folks need to lighten up and enjoy the season and this movie is good for a few laughs.

What a fun movie.
Simply stated, if you liked Groundhog Day, you'll like Christmas Do-Over. I guess that is why we liked it so much.
There really isn't much more to say....here's a little plot....Jay Mohr seems to be the worst dad in the world. He shows up late for Christmas with his ex in-laws and brings a crappy present for his son. He doesn't like his ex-wife's new dude and all kind of problems ensue. Ooo, but he wakes up the next day just to do it all over again, until he gets it right and possibly gets his wife back.
Great tv movie.
Highly recommend this one!
Merry Christmas!
November 8, 2008 | | Fun Family Christmas Movie!
My family LOVES this movie! It's the first one we choose at the start of the Christmas season. I really don't understand the negative reviews. It's clean, funny, and in a beautiful setting. It's made for TV (abc family), which we like because there is more of a chance we can all watch together (parents in 40's, 10-yr-old son, and grandmother). I will admit, the DVD version is slightly different from the TV version (we liked the TV one better), but it didn't stop us from buying a copy. Give it a chance!
October 25, 2008I am probably the only one who will give a positive review, but I thouroughly enjoyed this film. A Jay Mohr fan, I enjoyed his portrayal of a self-centered man who needs to realize what's important around the holidays. Do I think it's a rip-off of Groundhog Day? Yes. Do I like Groundhoug Day better? Yes. BUT this is very good for what it is.
August 27, 2008 | | Christmas movie needs Do-Over
It is a real shame that they could not get this movie correct. It was bad enough how horrible the dad was in life. But then the writer and Hollywood did not get it that the perfection was when he let everyone else's needs come first. I am glad to have seen the movie from a rental because I would have had to throw it away if I had bought the movie. It is a shame because the director did handle the repetitive days and dialogue so that it was still entertaining. But the writer did not understand when his story was over.
