It starts a bit slow and Dio has to warm up, but when he does, whatch out. Toni and Geezer are spot on. August 18, 2008

I saw this line up of Black Sabbath in 1980 or '81 and had the opportunity to see Heaven and Hell in the same venue almost 30 yrs later but didn't. After reading reviews of the concert and seeing this DVD, which I just bought, I really regret missing the live show.

In the two days since buying the DVD I've watched it in its entirety twice and have dipped into it to see specific songs a number of times. For me, this DVD really cooks. The picture clarity is absolutely incredible as is the sound quality. The performances of the band members are powerful, passionate and energetic without being overly dramatic. Tony and Geezer, in particular, put out awesome performances which were also displays of extremely professional musicianship and stage presence.

In some reviews, people have commented on too many camera angle changes etc but I personally found that there was a good balance. As a 49 yr old just starting electric guitar lessons I actually enjoyed and appreciated the close-ups of Tony's fretwork but at the same time I don't think any of the band members were unfairly neglected by the cameras.

My only complaint (and I'm not reflecting it in the rating) is that I found Dio occasionally approaching "Spinal Tap-ness" but hey, when I saw them 30 yrs ago I thought that stuff was cool. Otherwise, Dio did put on a really good show and seemed to have a very good rapport with the audience.

Even if you're not a big Sabbath fan, if you like hard, driving, intricate lead and bass guitar playing and, with the odd exception (my "Spinal Tap" comment), a generally no-nonsense and flawless performance, I highly recommend this DVD. June 1, 2008

Absolutley smoking video! Why cant all bands do this after this long? Oh thats right their all Posers! Ozzy included! Masters of metal is the correct term for this band " Black Sabbath" Forget sharon and ozzy, this is the band that wants to And CAN play metal!!! May 25, 2008

When I heard about Heaven and Hell putting out a dvd,my first thought was "I hope they don't embarass themselves like so many other bands who regroup after 10-20 years apart,it never sounds as good as the first time around".As unbelievable as it may sound,Heaven and Hell are as good or better on this dvd than when they played the same stuff as Sabbath. Ronnie James Dio's vocals are fantastic and the rest of the band seem to realize this and give excellent performances themselves. This is no"nostalgia act".This band and this concert is as good as anything out there from newer groups.
