It's ashame that the series is now gone

When I first starting watching the series I thought "Okay, you have my attention, what's the catch?" but as I continued to watch I started getting more and more intrigued. I was slowing beginning to be addicted to the show that I started watching it twice!! It brought up some issues that got me to thinking that "Hey, the possibility of this actually happening could be true!!!" It was a wonderful series and I was so hoping to see a 3rd season. I was truly heart broken to find out that it was dropped. I totally recommend buying this series and if anything it's definitley going to be a great classic or maybe they will bring it back!!!

Post Apocalyptic Sensation...

I bought this dvd set because of the 5-star rating and captivating plot, where a Nuclear bomb goes off in Denver and people in a nearby town must learn to cope with the after effects of that tragic event. Many questions are raised.. Was it an accident, were other cities bombed, was it a terrorist attack, or a pre-cursor to an all-out invasion (or perhaps an alien invasion), is the mysterious hawkins a friend or foe?

As one reviewer pointed out, you're not exactly hooked from the pilot episode. But starting from the second episode, it's an adrenaline ride where you'll want to watch the entire series in one consecutive run.

I'm a fan of Mad Max: Road Warrior and some of the scenes remind me of that movie.. during desperate times, neighbors band together, as well as fight for food and a "tank of juice". In one episode, our two heroes must travel 90 miles to the nearest town in order to obtain medicine for their dying father. Armed with shotguns and a 60s muscle car, they find that the town is abandoned, with a few survivors and they must fight their way past killer mercenaries. Watching each episode, it's like going through post-apocalyptic euphoria. July 5, 2008

Great show

It took me a while to come around and watch the show... I was busy and by the time I got around to watching the first couple of episodes on the TiVo it was almost over! I couldn't wait for the DVD set so I could pick up where I left off.

The DVD set is well put together with enough extra features to keep even the die hard fans happy. My only complaint is the case I got is pretty poor quality... can't have it all I guess! June 25, 2008
