WHAT SHAME

What a shame it is that this brilliant show was pulled from the air. I was hooked after just one episode. I had hope that there was going to be a television show worth watching when TBD aired. There hasn't been such a collection of talented actors, brilliant writing and production on television in a long time. July 23, 2008

Better than I expected.

My boyfriend really wanted to see this series, and I didn't care to. I decided to watch the first episode, just to see what the hype (after it was cancelled) was all about. From the first episode, I was hooked.

If you like mob dramas, such as Boondock Saints, Sopranos, The Godfather, you would most likely enjoy this. June 30, 2008

Great Show

I live in Ireland and bought this show from Amazon as I thought it sounded good and all the reviews made it sound like an Irish version of the Sopranos.

I can't understand why a show of this calibre with good writing would be cancelled.

If this was syndicated in Ireland it would be a hit.

The Black Donnellys is 13 enjoyable episodes of Irish-American criminals. It suggests a more violent Brotherhood. The use of the unreliable narrator is an excellent technique. It is unfortunate this is the complete series since clearly, the way it ends indicates the show was destined for at least a second series. Nevertheless what is there is there to be enjoyed.
