rating: 5 QuoteGreat Collection from an Underrated Series for a Great PriceQuote
Originally airing under the prosaic title of "Alcoa Presents," this first rate paranomal anthology, produced at the same time as the better known "Twilight Zone," spun yarns supposedly based on true stories of ordinary people confronting ghosts, witches and other occult phenomenon. This generous budget priced set includes 33 episodes culled from the series' three season run and you can't beat the price - under $10 for a third of the series episodes, when purveyors of other boxed sets are asking for as much as $120 for less than twice as many shows. Host John Newland provides suitably spooky introductions and wrap-ups for each episode.

Episodes included are: The Dark Room, Dead Part of the House, Return of Mitchell Campion, The Aerialist, The Vision, The Captain's Guest, Echo, Front Runner, The Riddle, Delusion, Ordeal on Locust Street, Brainwave, Doomsday, Inheritance, Open Window, Message from Clara, Forked Lightning, Dead Ringer, The Lovers, Vanishing Point, Explorer, The Clown, Encounter, Peter Hughes Story (Parts I and II), Delia, Gypsy, House of the Dead, Goodbye Grandpa, Anniversary of a Murder, Moment of Hate, To Know the End and Where Are They? .

Bonus Features included in the set are an episode from the radio series "Suspense" entitled `Heavens to Betsy' and a poster gallery of paranormal movies. September 7, 2008

Very entertaining black and white program with a similar format to Twilight Zone, but about supposed real stories. The only disappointment is the quality of the video. The originals should have been restored better if possible, otherwise worth buying. January 24, 2008

This was the forerunner of the twilight zone and the outer limits but had its stories based on possibile truth. It left you thinking about the possibilitys. A great series from the fifties with John Newland as host! January 12, 2008
