I understand the frustration with waiting for the complete seasons, but I say in all honesty, I would get this even if I owned all the seasons.

When it comes to extras, I'm usually sceptical. Like who needs to see a feature-length documentary on "Billy Madison" even if you liked it. However, the extras on this set are a revelation.

Larry Sanders is a wonderful show. It's cutting edge. The extras reveal a lot of great moments and is further evidence of the professionalism and love that went into this show.

I couldn't always get through this amazing show when it was on....because it was too real. I am serious folks, this is almost a reality show. I was working in film and TV when this was on and after a 72+ hour work week, it was just too much like being at work and I couldn't take it.
NOW, however, I may nostalgically bask in the wonderful neuroses, petty fights, unbelievable stupidity and amazing personalities and talent that was MY workplace as well as the fictional (but you'd never know it) one of the Larry Sanders Show.

An amazing realization of the ol' "backstage" drama... er.... I mean comedy.

GET IT!

Now I'm waiting for "It's Gary Shandling's Show!"

I would like to add, that...what am I? The National Archives? Do I need every episode made? No. They will be available without having to own them. But even if you do want to own them all, this DVD has great extras... that should be in your master archive anyway! July 9, 2008

I was a fan of the Larry Sanders Show back when I was in high school when everyone else was watching 90210 and thinking that was entertainment. Perhaps one of the funniest shows that ever came to fruition, it is a shame that we will never see the complete season box set because of Shandling's legal battles. Seeing it again as an adult makes me see it in a whole new light, as a precursor of sorts to reality TV, the future hit shows for HBO, and how insane people really are.

I just loved everything about this show : the obvious neurosis of Larry and his coworkers, the backstabbing, the fighting and obnoxious behavior, and the hilarious melding of personalities. I used to think this was just fiction, but as I age I see that it's really a reflection of working culture. It doesn't matter if you work in television, a white collar office, or a machine shop, people are nuts! Here you see how a bunch of barely functional people live in a fake world of the late night talk show. And once the cameras go off, the claws come out! Perhaps we would function better in the office if we had cameras on us at all times. I have witnessed all of these things in so called "white collar jobs" as an adult and wonder why people can't behave themselves a bit better.

The commentaries and star interviews on this disc are great and take me back to the days when this show was still on the air. And my neurosises are even worse now! April 29, 2008

I am a relatively new fan of the Lary Sanders' Show and this was my first big introduction, so I found this collection hillarious. I particular found the shows featuring Hank the side kicks lost sex tape and his momentary celebration as a guest host marred by his out of control ego fabulous. However, I would have much preferred a deeper collection and not had the extra space on the DVD filled with so many guest star real life interviews, which frankly I skipped. But virtually all the shows are so original and the interplay between the charcters back stage made this show original, real life, funny entertainment. March 22, 2008

Not Just the Best of the Larry Sanders Show

This is a very funny collection of shows that appeared on HBO. There are a lot of shows collected here as well as additional interviews and outtakes. Everything is great. The collection of actors is top rate. The writing is superb and consistent. Rip Torn and Jeffrey Tambor are at the top of their craft and the low key Garry Shandling is the glue that holds them together. There are cameo appearances by many well known and up-and-coming actors of the time. I highly recommend this collection. January 7, 2008
