| Pretty good but still a mixed bag in someways |
This volume introduces the Lost Unit and The HyperZoanoid Team 5. The battle scenes are much better in this volume to me concerning the Lost Unit. However this first battle with the team 5 is alright at best and really doesn't compare with the original. The updated character designs of each of them is so well detailed, and much better on the eyes. The animation adds so much to this new Guyver its unreal. And this is coming from somebody who doesn't really care for the animation in a show. Some of the characters still get a pretty quick death and others get to showcase their powers a bit more. So the anime pretty much picks up its own slack in different areas to me.
This volume contains 4 more episodes, 9-12. They all aren't very actionpacked as much as the original. Its a bit more story with more character development due to the introduction of more characters. I already seen and own the next 2 volumes. And I have to say the story gets so much better, that the original unfinished version of the Guyver is beginning to disappear from memory. This is a very good collection to start and finish. July 20, 2007
