rating: 3 QuoteNot worth a Friday NightQuote
The original series was the only must see Friday Night show worth staying home for. The series was captivating and inspiring in many ways. The music and fashion were as much a part of the show as the plot was. Sadly the movie does not live up to this. I felt the movie storyline stayed true to the original characters and the plot would have made for a solid episode, but there was nothing special about the movie. The movie gets by on its name and the longing of the watcher to go back to and relive the 80's. This movie is worth a Sunday afternoon not a Friday night. September 8, 2008

Think of this movie as a return to greatness. A Toast of excellence if you will. I saw this as the greatest Miami Vice episode ever.
The 2 Stars, Sonny Crockett (Colin Ferrel) and Ricardo Tubbs (Jamie Foxx) are 2 Miami Dade officers who go Undercover to bust a huge drug operation.
The cast is spectacular, and the script is Top-Notch.
Now, Im the kind of person who is used to my action movies having a bunch of action through-out. And this does, dont get me wrong, but this has a different brand of action, Delivering Suspense and tension in every scene, Following up to a spectacular Shoot-out. It had me saying: "Wow, I want to see this again". September 7, 2008

I enjoyed this movie. I didn't think that I would since I watched the TV series regularly. I didn't think that it would compare and I don't think that the director tried to compare it and that is why it worked. I purchased the blu-ray edition of this movie. What I do not understand is why they would purposefull have so much graininess in this film. It goes beyond graininess in some shots to down right horrid. This is definitely not the movie that you want to play to show off your hi-def television and blu-ray to your neighbors. The poor video quality does nothing for the movie but distract and irritate me. I should have stuck with the standard DVD in this case as there is very little difference between it and the blu-ray.
