Get this one for the extras -- Elvis and Pete take a tour through Memphis, Helena, Clarksdale and Oxford, hitting all the cool spots: Stax, KFFA, little studios, clothing shops, the Shack-Up Inn. Along the way EC shares his knowledge of great American R&B. Makes you wanna revisit Highway 61. March 9, 2008

i was lucky enough to actually see elvis at one of the shows at the hitone. it was amazing. a huge act in a tiny club, and he just kept rocking, no stops, just constant.

the people who are complaining about the flubs and him not singing just like the records, blah. it was a live show, that's what happens.

if you want cleaned up and boring, this is not for you. if you want raw and alive, then buy this.

amazing stuff here. February 20, 2008

This is a fantastic show. The DVD includes such goodies as extra songs and a documentry that documents EC's purchase of the purple shirt he wore onstage to an impromptu performance of "Needle time".

I'm in my mid-forties and my Mother enjoyed this show more than just a little.

There is a Blue Ray version for us HD freaks but in either format the show kills.

I read the other reviews here and was struck by some who said Elvis looked "puffy and sweaty". They've obviously never played a small club with heat generating amps and lighting raising the temp above the average comfort level. He sweats. So what? He's put on a few pounds. So have we all. He still rocks like no other and I can wholeheartedly recommend this set. The extras are great. Good to see Elvis discovering America. Made me realize how little we value our own national treasures. To see them through his eyes was very interesting.

Buy it. you'll like it. August 6, 2007

The reviews on this disc have ranged from 3 to 5 stars which seems about right. If you are an EC fan, you'll like this DVD but you probably have memories of him that are better than what you'll see here.

In my case, I saw this show (sans Emmylou Harris) in St Louis and the band seemed more pumped than they were at this show in Memphis. I also remember the first time I saw him in 1979 when the Attractions ripped through a 60 minute set and Elvis left the stage in a huff because he was po'd at the radio station that sponsored the concert. No one could claim he wasn't pumped up that night.

His career has been so prolific over the last 30 years there is no way one concert could cover all his major works and this Dvd is no exception. I liked the Alison/Suspicious Minds number and has there ever been a bad version of Peace Love & Understanding?

If you are a Costello fan you will like this show but probably want more. If you are new to him, this is a pretty good place to start but not to end. December 16, 2006
