The good of the album is that Lewis is an exceptionally intelligent and funny man with a very good message for those willing to listen. From Clinton to Cheney, from Bush to Kerry, his vitriolic salvos invoke laughter and serious thought time and time again while challenging those on the right and left to question where they stand and who they choose to put faith in (a growing neccesity in the mis-information age).
The bad of the album is really up for interpretation: if you are strongly conservative you will find very little funny unless you lean towards the middle or have a sense of humor about politics. In Mr Blacks defense, his White Album is something quite the opposite, something you might like while strongly liberal folks would disdain his message there, so at least he is fair in choosing his targets. If you are new to Lewis Black he swears using vulgar language alot (I really can't stress "a lot" enough) in the expression of his hilariously angry rhetoric, so if your preference is for a comedian such as Foxworthy or Sinbad who doesn't "work blue" as much then you are looking for someone else.
If you have a good sense of humor, a tolerance for a few (and by few I mean lots of) well placed "dirty words", and aren't overly rigid in your political or theological views then you cannot beat Lewis Black. January 8, 2008
