Pricey for about 10 minutes of music. Some of the songs were alright, not quite the same as hearing it live.

Saw The Who in Chicago in September and they were SOOOO good. I have so much respect for this band, Pete Townsend and Roger Daltrey performed with energy that I could not muster at my age. Pete Townsend - so talented - the first Rock Opera. Roger Daltrey can still belt it out! I learned afterwards that Townsend's bro did the vocals AND Ringo Starr's son was the drummer! Lots of fathers and sons in the audience. Teenagers behind us. A mixed crowd indeed! My favorite Who song is Eminence Front. I'm the only one WHO likes that song! My favorite song of the evening was Man in the Purple Dress.
December 7, 2006Being a big Who fan I awaited this release with great anticipation and rest assured that while this isn't quite in the same league as Tommy, Quadrophenia or Who's Next, it is several steps in the right direction!
The only real downside to this EP (and the subsequent album) is that it feels and sounds a bit fragmented, as if some of the material is little more than snippets of a bigger idea or concept. Just when you begin to get into some of the tracks, its on to something else..Perhaps in this day and age when everyone is force-fed soundbytes and the average attention span is measured in seconds this isn't a bad thing..(?) regardless, If you are a Who fan, there is enough here to warrent the purchase..Better yet, buy the ALBUM and pad the nest eggs of two old Sheppard's Bush Geezers who continue to stir the hearts of rock fans around the world! 'Oo, 'Oo, 'Oo!!
November 10, 2006I understand the full scale Who album that was just released far eclipses the "Wire & Glass"...
November 9, 2006Overall very good. Sounds like old Who (Tommy era). The whole CD came out on 10/31/06. Very Good CD. If you are a true Who fan you will like it.
