| There Will Be a Jackass 3 |
I freely admit I, a college graduate who loves to read and watch foreign movies, thoroughly enjoyed Jackass. Sure, I was dead drunk when I watched it but, still, I died laughing. This movie is Idiocracy, here and now. Watch the Mike Judge movie, Idiocracy, to see what I mean. What is the difference between the television show "Ow, My Balls" featured in Idiocracy and Jackass? None. Also notice the raptness with which "Ow, My Balls" is watched by the movie's character and consider the popularity of the Jackass series. Hmmm.
A bunch of crazy-as-foxes goofs humiliate and torture themselves for your viewing pleasure. A lot of reviews opine that these guys are a bunch of morons. Nonsense. They are wildly creative, impossible to embarrass and daring. We pay good money to sit on our couches in the comfort of our homes and point and laugh. Who are the real morons? Like, duh. Johnny Knoxville is a multi-millionaire actor/writer/producer. What have you or I accomplished recently?
Johnny Knoxville and co. are taking advantage of the fact that suffering sells as long as it's cloaked as wacky stunts & comedy. People like to watch other people be hurt and humiliated. They just do. Who knows why. Maybe because pain and humiliation are inevitable in life and misery loves company. Whatever. All Knoxville and his buddies have done is take an Adam Sandler or Jim Carrey comedy and taken out all the plot and characters and sets and any anything else that might be the slightest bit distracting and served up an entire highlight reel of jokes and stunts. In doing so, they and their audience make an invaluable contribution to the dumbing-down of America. Congratulations all around. April 9, 2008
| Why Do You Think THey Call It "Jackass" Anyhow?? |
The first scene made me fall in love with the concept when Johnny Knoxville with a straight face tries to return a trashed rental car he's just used for demo derby and ask earnestly for his deposit to be returned.Other highlights are "mobile roller disco", the human mouse trap and some of the stupidest(but funniest)destructive and dangerous concepts you will be glad someone else is doing.
Editing is great, the director transitions from stunt to stunt without trepidation or hesitation. I could have watched another hour of this without tiring. February 19, 2008

Jackass: The Movie is made up of all the dumb, mindless pranks you'd expect of a college fraternity without any adult supervision.
The movie including the DVD is not without merit, however. If you have an annoying neighbor with teenage boys this might make an ideal Christmas present. You'd want to give it anonymously, of course.
Sure there are warnings throughout the movie DO NOT DO THIS AT HOME. You and I both know that a teenage boy is going to ignore those and try them anyway. That's where the anonymity comes in handy, Nobody can sue you.
Highly recommended for people with annoying teenage boys as neighbors and for any teenage boy you just don't like very much.
