This dvd examines Kate bushes earily works in great detail, but sadly gives little time to any of her work from 1985 up to her last realease the master piece "Aerial"

This series of DVDs is inherently limited by its low budgets and lack of "official" authorization, but this is one of the more satisfying releases of its kind I've seen, and for anyone hungry to learn more about the most important British band of the 80s (and that might be putting it too mildly) and see at least a taste of rare footage, it's compelling viewing. I found the contributors largely interesting and often amusing. The extensive dialogues with producers John Porter and Stephen Street are fascinating to anyone curious about how they put some of their records together. Yes, there are some omissions in the too-quick career overview, and the band members themselves are conspicuous by their absence, but again, that's the limitations of the form, and within those limitations I think this video succeeds very satisfactorily. If the Smiths' classic catalog ever gets the overhaul it so richly deserves, I hope there will be an official documentary produced that leaves this one behind in the dust. In the meantime, if you wish you had a better, or another, Smiths DVD than Complete Picture, this will do nicely, especially if you can pick it up used at a decent price. August 7, 2007

I was a little hesitant about this 'unauthorised' product but I highly recommend this doco on the 'enigma' of Kate Bush. The program covers all facets of her career from the 70's to the present with clips, interviews and insights. Def! get it if your a fan and if you're not familiar with this artist get it and convert! I've been following Kate Bush's career since her first album, "The Kick Inside" was released in 1978. I'm not an aficionado or a fanatic, but have kept tabs on her and have all of her albums and a few collectable/bootleg CD's. Well okay, you could consider me a fan.

This DVD isn't endorsed by Kate and does not live up to her high recording standards. It's mostly made up of interviews with four fairly knowledgeable people about Kate's life and their take on her music, some very short (old) interview clips with Kate and a few poor quality snippets of her videos. The entire DVD is of VHS quality IMHO and doesn't really offer anything new.

For a newbie it might be a good starting point, but for anyone looking for quality Kate Bush material it will be a disappointment. If you want good quality Kate Bush video and music look elsewhere...it's almost all available.

I'm not really that familiar with Kate Bush but certainly, after watching this disc, i feel i have a very good understanding of what she brought forth.
Several professionals from the music business speak passionately about her unique style, taking us through all of her albums one by one honing in on key tracks.
Segments from many of her song-video's are shown and numerous interviews with Kate herself are scattered through the program. There are a few brief clips of Kate performing live.
By the time this program arrived at her 4th album "The Dreaming" it became very clear to me that there is no one else like Kate Bush in modern music. A true original April 8, 2007
