I was skeptical when I saw this series and wondered just how this broad topic would be handled. To my delight I found it succinct, accurate, without bias and each historical subject just covered with enough detail to create interest without being overwhelming. This series attempts to present significant accomplishments of women throughout history without a "hidden agenda." It shows women as co-creators and co-developers of our American heritage without any implication that they did it alone or that they were finally "free" of the opression of men. It is a sound educational piece. March 9, 2008

A friend of mine who had lived in the States for some years brought this back with him after visiting his wife's family in Tennessee. After watching it himself, he asked my wife and I if we would like to borrow it.
From the first two scenes through to the last, the whole set made us nauseous. It is little more than a vehicle to rationalise the constant rewriting of History to suit the extreme Feminist agenda. How far is this lunacy going to go. before we know it, our children will be taught that every major decision, invention, innovation, medical discovery etc. was actually the work of women, and that men stole the ideas from those poor oppressed females. Even the structure of the series is piffle. Not even the luxurious Ms Mills could save this one. With the population replacement levels down to around 1.38 children per woman in Europe, and not much higher in North America. Our species in looking down the barrel of extinction within 2 centuries. Subversive works such as these should be thrown into the dustbins they belong in. Pure twaddle dressed up in a smart PC suit. Unesco must have had a hand in this somewhere along the line.
