About Collision Course
they're on a wild-wheeling COLLISION COURSE. A revolutionary new engine designe has been stolen from Tokyo and brought to Detroit so the Tokyo police send their best man Fuji Natsuo (Pat Morita) to investigate. Working undercover Fuji runs into a suspicious Detroit police detective Tony Costas (Jay Leno) who's hunting for the killer of an old friend. They're about as different as hot dogs and sushi but when they disocver that Costas' missing killer is tied to Fuji's auto gang leader they decide to join forces. Action explodes onto the screen as Tony and Fuji follow a trail of murder and corruption that leads them closer to the man at the top. | Leno coulda been a bigger actor.... |
What you WILL enjoy is Jay Leno's rather fun take on a Detroit cop. And his observations on what Americans will and won't tolerate is accurate and funny. (Car alarm sounds --"Turn that **** off"!
It does seem as if Jackie Chan saw this and decided to remake it as the "Rush Hour" series. I liked this one better. August 14, 2006
