as with some movies this one does not quite live up to what the studios presented it to be. It is well done, but is more of a comedy then a great thriller. The main characters are a bunch of con artist that have been forced to solve a real magical curse and a mystery. They do however it showed great courage and the special effects were well done. This one is worth the price and will most likely be watched more than once. May 12, 2008
And they all lived happily ever after
Many of you grew up in the sugar coated version of their tails. Some have read the real ones and recoiled. Well we finally get the real skinny; this fine true to life movie is more of a documentary explaining the real Brothers Grimm.
In French occupied Germany the brothers Jake and Will Grimm (Heath Ledger and Matt Damon) are out to make a fast buck. And they do to, until they are found out by the French general Delatombe (Jonathan Pryce who played Juan PerĂ³n in "Evita" [1996]). Now force to work for the French or perish they must confront what appears to be a better organized group of hucksters, or just maybe the real thing.
Will they accomplish their mission and maybe find a new respect for each other? Or will they fail to save a damsel in distress. Can we hold up through all this peril?
Anyway this is an enjoyable film even if a bit too campy. And they all lived happily ever after. Well maybe not.

Good Visual Effects
The Brother's Grimm had great visual effects. I thought they were outstanding. It was a little too frightening for children under 12, I would say, but older children would love it. The characters are funny and the story definately holds your attention. Peter Stormare really makes this movie a good watch. April 5, 2008
"or maybe not"
Fractured, spastic, jerky; a make-it-up-as-you-go series of special-effects sight-and-sound skits without wit or humor or drama, though the result is usually startling since you have no idea what's coming next.
This show will doubtless please fans of Terry Gilliam. Others, don't even think of buying this.

Could've Been So Much Better
A movie or television show is really only as good as what the writer(s) create. While the visual sets and special effects were awesome on this film, the storyline was so bad that I felt sorry for the actors in the film. An excellent cast, great director and even better special effects were all wasted because the writing itself was so stupid. You're almost better off reading the original stories themselves and avoiding this dumb film. March 23, 2008
