LIGHTEN UP - Enjoy the Fun

THE GOOD:

There's one scene in this movie that makes it worth buying (hell it made it worth seeing on the big screen). Cooter is repairing General Lee. When he's finished "the boys" jump in and when she cranks up ... if you long for the sound of the old V-8's hot rod rumble ... it's very exciting!

The writer and actor did a great job expressing Bo's love for the General Lee. If you've never felt love for you car you won't understand.

The driving is unbelievalbe! The stunts are great!

Jessica Simpson wears the Daisy Dukes very well! She also plays a great Daisy (it was a hard act to follow).

THE BAD:

The writer ruined Bo by transforming him into a dumb hick and boy does it piss you off!

Uncle Jesse tells awful jokes to an annoying extent, and he's a stoner.

The family's honor in not intact. (obviously the writer's do no KNOW "our" Dukes.)

THE UGLY:

Burt Reynolds needs to officially retire. The more he works the worse he gets - poor guy.

BOTTOM LINE:

This is NOT "our" Dukes. But, if you get over it and relax you'll enjoy the movie. It's fun! And it has our favorite star, the General, who will never perform badly (thank you Dodge)! September 16, 2008

New version of the classic!!

What can i say this is a perfect movie for any dukes of hazzard fan. They really went out of there way to get everything exactly as the show. Minus all the pauses during the shows. Its very funny. A must have for any dukes of hazzard fan. May 20, 2008

Super great!

I bought this movie because I love american musclecars, and this time I did not want a serious movie like The Deer Hunter. I wanted to laught and have a beer with my friends watching this movie and that is what I got. I really like this movie. I dont know how this movie is compared to the series but Im gonna get season one on dvd. Redneck is cool! March 29, 2008

Dalton's review

This movie takes place in Hazzard county and Atlanta Georgia. This movie is about how the Duke boys save Hazzard County from getting mined. They steal core samples from a trailer and tested them to find out what they were. They win the Hazzard county race and save Hazzard County just in time. This movie is a great movie.
I really like this movie because I have always watched the Dukes of Hazzard. Older people may not like this newer movie because it isn't like the older TV version. Children under thirteen probably shouldn't watch this unrated movie because it has women's nudity at the college that they go visit and because of the language. But other than that it is a really good movie. I think that it is a really good movie for kids anywhere from thirteen to adult and the regular version is good for any age. March 20, 2008

Dreadful

I expected an light entertaining movie.
This was dreadful. Casting was horrible. Couldn't they have found appealing leads?
And no, it didn't have to mirror the original show, but the original show was light hearted, pleasant, fun.
This was just annoying, irritating, etc.
Even people like Burt Reynolds who can handle light weight fare like this just couldn't seem to make it! January 28, 2008
