| | Good music to create art to!! | |
It is amazing that some music gives you the power to create better art. This is one of those. I love the way Wynonna gives me the power to believe in my self and see that I can be better and better as an artist.
Her music gives me hope, happiness and inspires me to take new steps. I create better art with her music! I hope many more will make the same experience's together with Wynonna!!
August 23, 2008This DVD is a comprehensive story of her career successes. It has some of the old stuff with her Mom and all of her hits and more during her solo career. I really enjoyed the setting of this concert at the Grand Ole Opry here in Nashville. Note Tim and Faith and Keith Urban in the audience.

The life performances of 26 tracks give a good review of the nearly two decades of Wynonna and her beginning as one half of "The Judds". Life has not always been good to her, but her voice still is. Until today she is fascinating with the sound of her voice and touching hearts with the songs that very often reflect the story of her personal disasters - fortunately she always recovers !
July 18, 2007 | | "4" because it's Wynonna, but ...well..EH... | |
Wynonna, much as I absolutely adored her while she was teamed with her Mom - AND while guitarist Don Potter was so VERY very integral to their sound! - just...seems...to...be..."mellowing" as she ages. Which, I guess, is fine (well...for "adult contemporary" dillitantes, anyway). Still - Dearest-On-Earth and I watched her with glee on that "CMI-Crossover" thing with the group Heart, and, honestly, NEITHER entity has sounded so good since the mid-eighties. But I digress...I know Wy is a Mom now and she..."used" to be a wife, et cetera, et cetera, but where is the energy that she once exuded? Did "adulthood" steal her energy? Just one example: On the "CMI" thing, long-time Zep fans, Heart, performed "Rock And Roll" with Wynonna, and, maybe because of the nature of the song, she actually recaptured some of her earlier..."energy." And when we saw her concert in Dayton, later that year (2005), she actually performed "Rock And Roll" as an encore - and bless her keyboard player's heart, he actually sounded like he was "channelling" the late, great pianist, Ian Stewart (who actually played piano on the original). WHY wasn't that on this DVD? We have it, and anything by Wynonna is great, I just wish that the DVD manifested some of her GREAT "earlier energy."
March 30, 2007Great quality, Wynonna at her best. I'm so glad I bought it.
