I fell in love with Damian Cunningham. He is the dear sweet little boy we all want for our own. I bought the DVD, then I bought the book. I will enjoy them both over and over.

This was nothing short of brilliant film-making. It's a little on the family/feel-good side of things, but with enough to keep your attention if you wanted to watch it with a friend. Great acting all around and a fantastic soundtrack.
July 9, 2008My wife and I loved this little film. The Amazon critic and others have pretty much summed up the plot and story so I'm not going to rehash those points. I'll just add that it is beautifully shot and all of the kids in this film know how to act without being corny. Quite honestly, this film left me wishing I could be young and unblemished by the world again. It reminded me of who I once was before I reached middle age with all of its accompanying disappointments and cynicism. This film is sweet without being "goopy" or sickly. I believe it will leave you thinking about who you could be once again. Buy it or at the very least put it on your Netflix list.

As an adult we sometimes forget how delightful childhood can be. This movie will awaken some of those emotions for adults and enlighten kids. This is a great family movie. It deals with what would you do if you found a bag of money, lots of money. When a small boy has his cardboard playhouse smashed by a large bag of money that fell off a train, he thinks it's from heaven. He wants to give it all away to the needy, and the saints that visit him, in his head, agree. Meanwhile his brother is figuring out ways to spend it that will make him popular and satisfy any urges. When they find out the money has been robbed and one of the robbers is trailing them they start to panic. What transpires next is interesting to say the least. This was alot of fun to watch and I recommend it if you enjoy foreign family movies like "The Secret of Roan Inish" or "Waking Ned Devine". What I enjoy about movies like this is they lead to family discussions of right and wrong. This movie doesn't condone wrong, it just shows how some people might take the wrong path sometimes if they don't have the right guidance. Great quality DVD with plenty of replayability.
May 21, 2008*** 2004. Directed by Danny Boyle. How to spend two hundred thousands pounds in a week when you are a child ? This British comedy is fun to watch, well filmed and it says two or three important things about money. Give it a chance.
