About Dot and the Kangaroo
Based on the classic children's book written by Edith C. Pedley in 1899, a young girl wanders away from her home in the Australian outback and becomes hopelessly lost. She meets many fantastic animals on her journey and is eventually befriended by an amazing kangaroo that helps Dot find her way home, and teachers her an important lesson about the environment.

| Good story, but hard to watch for grown-ups! |
This movie is unique because only the characters are animated. The background is shots of real things, like Dot's house, a real forest, and a real stream.
The film teaches good lessons about the environment, but some of the characters are hard to understand because of Austrailian accents or whiney high voices.
The story is good, but the film is pretty boring to sit through. My 2-year-old seems to like it, but I can't take much of it. November 16, 2006
