Sex and a Girl (2001)

Growing up in the ‘70s isn’t all that easy with hippy liberal parents. Sixteen-year-old Alex thinks she’s got it made. A promising future at Julliard, a boyfriend from the cool crowd and a great group of friends. When Alex’s wacky parents end their marriage, her world begins to crumble. Alex’s boyfriend drinks too much; her dance teacher’s guidance becomes overbearing and her friends are not there to support her when she needs it most. When Alex falls into the arms of her mother’s ex-lover, things begin to spiral out of control. An intimate and insightful look into a teenagers life during a decade filled with change and controversy, "Sex and a Girl" brings humor, drama and a strong cast including Alison Lohman (White Oleander), Academy Award nominee Genevieve Bujold, Danny Masterson (That ‘70s show) and Soleil Moon Frye (‘Punky Brewster’).

Simple story

The story is simple, and a good (mostly unknown cast) makes the movie watchable. Not an excellent, award winning movie but it was good. December 2, 2005

A young actress makes this film simply enjoyable

I only saw the second half of the movie, and that should be a statement for itself. The woman name is Angela Gots. She has just made my day. At first I was amused by her beauty, but in a matter of minutes discovered that there's definitely more to her. her subtle facial expressions were truly impressive and the fact that she had no fear is even more.
