Three grown siblings reluctantly assemble at a hospital to await the results of their father's surgery. Holding them together, while simultaneously pushing them apart, is their mother (Ellen Burstyn). Wrought with divorce, infidelity and sexual confusion, the characters spiral out of control, resulting in a day each will never forget.
