The star of MLB Superstars is Jennie Finch, the charismatic, congenial, powerful and, oh yes, beautiful softball superstar pitcher. After watching this, I'd probably buy other hypothetical DVDs, including "Jennie Finch's Fast Pitching Techniques", "Jennie Finch Smiles at the Camera", or "Jennie Finch Jumps Up and Down for Twenty Minutes". Okay, not quite, but you get the idea. ;-)
The funniest thing about this DVD is the strange reactions to Finch by the supposed professionals of baseball. They literally melt in her presence, whether during interviews or in disbelief at the plate against her, with a few exceptions. Not that I'd do any better, but it surprised me. I hadn't realized that there was such a noticeable gender gap in the attitude of the game.
The DVD includes bonus features with career highlights of a number of major league stars.
To recap, get this only if you're looking for a lot of fun behind the scenes of baseball... or a fan of Jennie Finch, hubba hubba... you'll be disappointed otherwise. It's a bargain. August 4, 2006
