The book arrived on time and in excellent conditions. Plus, I really wanted to read it. February 8, 2008

*Spoiler alert*.....I loved this anime from beginning to end. I noticed people complaining that you never find out who the Blade Children really are and if they are saved. All I have to say is that that is not really the point of the series.
Its about believing in yourself and your abilities and being happy with who you are and choosing your own fate. With these themes you can really see all the characters grow especially Ayumu but all the blade children do too (Eyes, Kousuke, Rio...and so on)...even Kanone, though just a little bit at the end.
And I think in a sense you do find that the Blade Children were saved because they were given hope and a chance at a future...but that's just my opinion. And you do find out something about their curse if you listen close enough to Kanone's speech about the bird when he is talking with Madoka...but I'll let you see that when you watch the series.
In all the series comes to a natural conclusion without needing to answer all the questions for you and in fact I believe it wouldn't have been near as good had they just spelled everything out for you. It really is a great show and if you get it you wont be disappointed...trust me...^_^

Spiral is a great anime with lots of fun twist. However.. as the first dvd is titled "What Are The Blade Children" you'd assume this question among others would eventually be answered. But.. they aren't. Granted if you know japanese you can read the manga which is MUCH better, and hopefully TokyoPop will eventually start making use of their lincense to release Spiral in volumes so we can learn all the answers to the questions the anime touches on.

If you have the rest of the dvds, you should buy this, but don't expect any sort of answers to come from it, it's beyond the normal anime open endings by not even answering any of the questions that surround the theme of the show. Disappointing, but still worth the watch. May 22, 2006

WARNING! My review contains a lot of spoilers. To avoid them skip to the last paragraph.

Up until this final volume I loved Spiral. The story was interesting and full of mystery, the animation was very good, it really had me hooked. So, when the final volume arrived at my house I watched it that moment. At first, I was full of hopeful anxiety, I wondered just how everything was going to come together and if Ayumu would be able to save the Blade Children from their mysterious plight.

I was sadly disapointed.

We never find out if the Blade Children are saved, (although this was strongly hinted at) we never even get to find out what the curse of the Blade Children is! What is their curse? Why must they be eliminated? If you want those answers you'll have to make some up for yourself. Also, Kiyotaka's whereabouts are never disclosed, which didn't really bother me, except I felt sorry for Madoka, his abandoned wife. This final volume really disappoited me. Having some unresolved riddles would have been fine. But to leave what was basically the entire plot of, and the motivation, the story unsolved is quite frustrating.

*End of the Spoilers*

So in short, the two stars is only for this final volume, which is very unconculsive. Not taking Vol. 6 into account, I'd give the series 4 stars, I really liked it. In fact I highly suggest you see this. Just rent it. As far as I'm concerned, I wish I had rented it. That would have saved LOTS of money and the frustration of seeing the dvd's every time I looked into my movie cabinet. Final verdict: Yes, the show is worth checking out, but don't spend more money than you have to on it.
