Beyond the Sea

The movie's a little less than extraordinary, but some of the acting is great. And there is NOTHING like watching Kevin Spacey, whether in "Beyond the Sea," or "L.A. Confidential," when he hears the truth. July 20, 2008

Kevin Spacey nails it!

Beyond the Sea was a labor of love for actor Kevin Spacey, he wrote, directed, and stars as singer Bobby Darin and boy he does a wonderful job. Spacey is good in every movie but in this particular role, he shows how colorful of an actor he really is. Kate Bosworth also stars as Sandra Dee, she does an ok job but watch this film if you are a die-hard fan of Bobby Darin's classic music. This movie comes off a tad bit self-indulgent but entertaining. Give this biopic a try. Enjoy! March 31, 2008

Beyond the Sea

Kevin Spacey did a bravura job in writing ,directing and producing his homage to the great Bobby Darin. Spacey captures his essence and does a great job singing. I hope that someday Spacey releases his live performances of Bobby Darin's work because the stage was where Darin could best be captured. March 26, 2008

Spacey does Darin....a class act

This is one production where I would suggest viewing the film with commentary first. For no other reason then to more fully appreciate the magnificent way in which Kevin Stacey developed his theme and brought it to the screen.
Mr. Stacey gives us an impeccable performance in the starring role and as director opens up new horizons in the biopic genre.
Top casting all around.
Don't miss this gem.
Stacey is Darin.
You'll spend the next few days humming La Mer.

Outstanding !

Kevin Spacey plays the part of Bobby Darin to a TEE ! Absolutely one you will want to add to your collection if you're a Darin fan. I'll watch this one again. November 22, 2007
