About Billy Rose's Jumbo
Jumbo is a mighty talented elephant. It's also the ideal word to describe this big-time big-top extravaganza bursting with laughter and love song and dance circus stunts and star power.Radiant Doris Day sings beloved Rodgers and Hart tunes and does her own horseback riding tricks in a razzle-dazzle musical based on Billy Rose's stage spectacular and featuring circus sequences directed by Busby Berkeley. The story revolves around a circus owner (Jimmy Durante star of the 1935 Broadway original) with only two real attractions: his daughter (day) and popular pachyderm Jumbo. Three-ring pandemonium breaks out when a handsome rival (Stephen Boyd) infiltrates the circus and father daughter and Dad's wisecracking fianc e (Martha Raye) are suddenly at risk of losing the greatest show on earth!System Requirements:Length: 127 minsFormat: DVD MOVIE Genre: MUSICALS/MUSICALS UPC: 012569707023 Product Description

| Doris Day's Charming! |
Doris Day plays Kitty Wonder who's father, Pop Wonder (Jimmy Durante), owns a struggling circus that's main attraction is a huge elephant, Jumbo. Their rival circus - The John Noble Show - wants the elephant so the owner sends his son Sam (Stephen Boyd) over to the Wonder circus to get it. Sam gets a job working at Pop Wonder's circus and ends up falling in love with Kitty. One night while they are doing a show, Sam saves Kitty from a near-fatal accident and decides to tell his father he's not going through with the plan to steal the elephant. While Sam is gone his father comes and closes down their circus and takes Jumbo. But off course, it all ends well when Sam recovers Jumbo and returns him to Pop and Kitty.
My favorite part of this movie would have to be "The Most Beautiful Girl In the World" number that Doris Day and Stephen Boyd do together! March 6, 2008
