The 30 minute step routine consists of 2 sections: the first one is very basic for 15 minutes and completely boring, the second one is vertical on the step and a little more varied with more impact, this one wasn't as bad. Even though the instructor is pretty friendly and cuing is not a problem, she is constantly off-beat with the awful music. I had to force myself through it and not look at the screen because she was so out of synch. I worked up a sweat because I was using 2-lb hand weights but it was just not motivating to do. The 10-minute toning section consisted of a couple of leg lifts and push ups. I think the best part was the warm-up, but it was longer and slower than I'm used to. My suggestion: don't bother with this one.

It was nice to just be able to pop the DVD in and start working out. The steps are not at all complicated (sometimes the arms took a tad longer to figure out). Kathy Kaehler is not in the least annoying. Its a 30 minute cardio workout (it also has warm ups and a toning part at the end). I found it a very encouraging CD for beginners and a good DVD to put in the rotation. May 18, 2008

I love this DVD! I've only tried it once so far, but I am very happy with it. It was an excellent workout - I sweat a LOT, but I didn't feel completely wiped out at the end. The moves are nice and basic, with no long, dancy combos. I was able to follow this without stumbling over the moves or getting frustrated and I could actually focus on the workout instead of the choreography. I love Step, but I'm just not dance-oriented and the DVDs with the fancy choreography, while entertaining to watch, are just too much for me to follow. This DVD is perfect for what I need - a good, solid workout that I can follow and that allows me to ramp up the intensity as I get more fit. May 9, 2008

I first saw Kathy Kaehler in Cindy Crawford's workout, and I really liked her style, as I needed some extra cardio to help me lose weight from pregnancy, my husband and I decided to buy this step workout.
I wasn't a big fan of step work outs since I always find them hard to follow but if you need something to make you sweat, burn fat and calories, without being to complicated and easy to follow, this is the DVD for you.
I was able to follow it from A to Z since the very first time, as she says: it's simple, so you are able to really focus on the movement, and as my husband says, it doesn't need to be fancy in order to deliver results for you.
I can really feel it it my legs, which buy the way are looking better and better each day and I sweat like C R A Z Y.

I've been doing step aerobics on and off for over 10 years. And Kathy is the best instructor I've seen! My all time favorite has always been her Fitness System on VHS and now I have this DVD and she really delivers an Awesome workout! I've tried others for variety and I keep coming back to her. Your workout doesn't have to be overly complicated to be effective. I highly recommend Step Aerobics and I highly recommend Kathy Kaehler! January 11, 2008
