About Blazing Stewardesses/Naughty Stewardesses Double Feature

Those "naughty stewardesses" are at it again! But this time they’ve turned in their Mile High Club sky miles for a sexy, rousing, Old West-styled adventure on a dude ranch. Punchin’ cattle and breakin’ stallions are the last things on their minds as these lovely ladies earn their wings in a whole new way…blazing a trail straight to the bedroom.

These films are exploitation at its most dreadful. The players are superannuated "stars" of '40s flix, and the comedy team of the Ritz Brothers played in nightclubs in the '40s, so there's not even a film record of them amongst movies that I saw as a kid--so their relevance to a Baby Boomer is nil. I suppose the only folks who would fully appreciate these works are veterans of World War II; this isn't work of these folk in their prime. July 3, 2008

Blazing/Naughty Stewardesses is an amusing exploitation double feature in the style of Roger Corman. Contrary to the other reviewer who had apparently only seen "Naughty Stewardesses" when he wrote the review, these are not "sleaze" pictures. In fact, "Blazing Stewardesses" is very much a PG-13 film, by today's standards anyway. Their titles make them out to be much dirtier than they really are. When I compare them with Roger Corman, I mean that they are goofy, fun, and feel more like light-hearted comedies than the more cheap and dirty style of David Friedman or Henry Novak.

While production, direction, and acting aren't typically the strong points of this style of film, everyone seems to turn in a reasonable effort. Yeah, you've got lots of character actors overacting like champs, but it really seemed like everyone involved was trying to make a decent movie. We don't have any people reading their lines off lamp shades like Connie Mason in Blood Feast.

I could describe the plot, but there's really no point. These are sex comedies involving stewardesses - exactly the sort of high concept films that appealed to a diverse array of white teenage males. If you're a fan of Corman, Herschell Gordon Lewis, or anything similar, these are worth checking out. At $20 for the two films, they are reasonably priced. I wouldn't recommend paying any more than that though. They're good, fun films, but a bit bland. I would recommend renting them first. March 7, 2008

ok this movie is hillarious! an awsome sex romp that doesn't take itself seriously for a second. i'm not even gonna get into the story line or whatever because it is not what makes the movie at all. if you like oddball humor and sleaze then do yuorself a favor and get this double feature. plus it's limited to 20 thousand copies. i haven't watched the Naughty Stewardesses yet but as soon as my sides arn't in stiches from cracking up at the first one then i will deffinately check it out. though oddly enuff the dvd presents Blazing as the first when actually Nughty was. anyway, get this one and if you smoke....Blaze away! it's a riot.
