This is a great show. Most folks seem to think of this show in terms of a family show to watch with kids. But, you don't need kids to watch this show. We don't and we love it. :) The Kratt's are great and they capture unique behavior we haven't seen on other nature shows. They make the show interesting and entertaining. Also, they focus the entire show on one animal and cover animals that aren't the "most popular" and therefore haven't been covered much by other nature shows. Another reviewer listed the creatures covered in each show, very helpful list.

I mentioned this show is also for adults, not only for kids/families. We don't have kids, but I think this would be fine for older kids. As mentioned by others, the predation/death in some of the shows may be too much for younger children. Especially the show about Lions (on the first disc). The Lion show is 100% about hunting/killing and may even be too much for some adults! It is very different than normal nature shows about lions.

Really, this is great and we are disappointed that there is only 1 season. November 26, 2008

My favorite episode is the one where surrounded by snow the Kratt brothers sit down in hot springs, seemingly naked, next to Japanese macaque snow monkeys. This is funny, but they don't forget to tell you how a wet monkey fairs in the snow, and I had always wondered about that. The Kratt brothers are funny but they never forget to tell you the nuts and bolts of what your looking at. I have a degree in biology and in their funny way I see them presenting the textbook stuff right in their jokes. That is, they are very organized and informative. This is not to be confused with Zoboomafoo, the Kratts's kiddy show. My 9 year old daughter and I were both just as enthusiastic about this DVD. January 21, 2007
