Tracy and Hepburn At Their Best!

This is a great collection to watch and to own. Two are my some of my favorite movies of all time, one is good and pleasant, and there is an interesting documentary to watch as well. Woman of the Year and Adam's Rib are just wonderful movies. Woman of the Year carries a depth and resonance of truth in its story while trying to carry its two protagonists to a place where they can reconcile and meet each other half way. A woman lives for politics and influence in the world while a man lives for a good ball game and the enjoyment of writing about it, where can these two ever get together? Of course, its the woman who ends up coming down to Earth but the man says it's Ok if she's up there some of the time!
Adam's Rib is a slapstick funny movie about two married lawyers who are fighting on opposite sides of a case. The husband takes it on the basis of simple facts and law, the wife takes the case on as the second class status of women everywhere. Who's right and who's wrong?
Pat and Mike is an interesting movie that grows on you and is very pleasant but you can't expect it to be the same as the other two. It isn't as good but has a completely different tone which can throw viewers off. Pat is a all around sports woman, Mike becomes her sports promoter and Pat has Aldo Ray as a boyfriend who doesn't seem to make her feel comfortable when she plays. Who is the right man for her?
The documentary is interesting as a production by Katherine Hepburn in a tribute to Spencer Tracy. Done completely in video tape except for film clips, it seems a bit low budget and was shown on public television. It is valuable as a way to see actors as they once were, hear Hepburn's version of the story and learn more about Spencer Tracy. I was glad to add it to my collection. This is a very enjoyable set of films. July 7, 2008

Each movie blows my mind!How entertaining! How funny! What a perfect match these two brilliant actors were! Love the additional DVD that is a tribute to Spencer Tracy compiled by the love of his life, Katherine Hepburn! May 12, 2008

Timeless Classic

Always a fan of the classics, but never enough of the tracy and hepburn legacy. A joy to watch both with laughter and tears. I highly recommend this DVD if you are a lover of timeless classics. April 27, 2008
