We all wanna ball and we all wanna floss. Rocafella was that crew that showed us how to get that dough and how to do it in style. Jay, Dame, Biggs and the crew was doing it BIG. Loved the videos for all of VOL 1, especially Face Off (Redbones galore) and You Must Love Me. April 4, 2007

This DVD is a must for any Jay-Z fan or any fan of hip-hop for that matter. The story itself (based on Jay's own life) is gritty and funny (Jay's always had a good sense of humor-you can tell from his albums) at the same time. The only complaint I have is that the movie/storyline is too short! The last 15-20 minutes of the DVD consist of old music videos (which are cool b/c they show Jay when he was young and hungry-with that rapid-fire flow) but man, I wanted to see more stories too! Oh yeah, real important: PARENTS, this DVD is NOT PG-rated (like Amazon says). There's profanity, bloody violence and explicit sexual content/nudity. Be forewarned. Other than that, this DVD proves that when it comes to rap, noone's f*$@in' with Hov. November 20, 2005

Some people thought Jay lost some serious credibility after Vol 1. I thought it was close to a classic, but thats just my opinion.
However you see it, this DVD definitely establishes Jay-Z as real. 'You Must Love Me' is an even more emotional song with the images backing it up, and 'Face Off' shows Jay's love for the hoes. But definitely it's the last 4 videos, I Can't Get With That, In My Lifetime, In My Lifetime (Remix) and Dead Presidents (Original verses) that make the DVD. It is an incredible release, and lets you interact with him and his music on a whole new level, much better than just listening to his cds. Pick this up with Fade To Black. November 13, 2005

Wow, it took for Jay to retire and for use to get this once hard to fine movie on dvd. If you are a true fan you may have this on vhs. For most who don't know or just becoming a Jay-Z fan, this one cd gave Jay his street credit back. Some thought that In My lifetime:VOL 1 was a little soft(Sunshine) but to date outside of Resonable Doubt, blueprint, and the black album vol 1 will always be a classic to me. The Streets are Watching just gave us the sound that we first heard when we all got a resonable doubt.

For true Jay-Z fans this and Fade to Black are a must have to get to know the humble yet cocky rapper. You can add Backstage to the list only if you want to hear about Ja Rule, DMX, Beenie Segal, and Memphis Bleek. July 6, 2005
