It was a surprise when I watched the movie. I did not anticipate to hear such music resonating with the peaceful inner hearts of ours. I was so moved and bought the audio CD right away. November 8, 2008

This is well worth reading subtitles for. My 13-year old also thoroughly enjoyed it.

It seems there is only one theme in all the songs. If these songs are seperated in the period of a film, I can take it. But play in a roll as a CD? Disappointing! Just like there is only one song in the CD. May 10, 2008

This is from the original soundtrack of the film which means that some of the songs are short. The beautiful arrangements and inspired compositions by Coulais compensate, together with an outstanding double bass line which is stunning with choral work. The children have lovely voices and sound unpolished on longer notes which adds to the authenticity of this being a group of school children learning to sing. Worth buying the DVD to understand the story (with Englsih subtitles). It is beautifully filmed using soft pastel colours.
CD also has booklet with the lyrics in French and English. Unfortunately the English is a literal translation and needs to be rewritten to fit smoothly into the music, but well worth it if you want to use this beautiful music for children's choral work. Can work equally well with mixed or girls' voices. Wonderful music by a master composer who obviously understands children's voices. January 9, 2008

Wonderful. Very full of human understanding and insight. The music throughout is excellent. Some scenes might be hard for young children to view, but children 10 and older would be appropriate. September 17, 2007
