I really don't see the big deal with this movie at all. I find it to be one of the most boring slashers I have ever seen. Slasher films are hard to mess up when you think about it. They can either be character driven, story driven or even a visual work of art to appeal to the sophisticated horror fan. Or mindless disturbing gore for the blood thirsty gorehounds. To me, "Terror Train" fails miserably on every level.
"Terror Train" starts out well enough but soon dives into the realm of bordom. Certain events were drawn out too long and just weren't fun to watch. This film to me was just a waste of solid visuals and a crafty idea. The usage of the killer had a spark but took a serious back seat to some partially useless filler. A certain character gets too much screentime that adds to the mystery a little bit. But it was severely overdone.
The gore was bad, death scenes bad, plot bad, acting weak, there is nothing that I like about this movie. Well some of the girls was hot, I guess I should count that. The slasher at that time was a fast moving juggernaut and this meant to cash in on it. It probably only took them about three days and a wake up to make this one. Normally I would toss out recommendations but this one time I really don't need to. You can go to a video store, hit the horror section blind folded and pick out something better. So I recommend doing that. This flick is monday through friday week! October 22, 2008
