The strongest draw to this movie is in the presence of James Caviezel and the stunning Rhona Mitraspect in the lead roles of two strangers thrown together on the California highways, one pursuing, the other begin pursued by a maniacal serial killer who wields his car as a weapon of destruction.
Conversely the main weaknesses I perceive in this production are; the lack of originality in the storyline and the fact that most of the car chase sequences take place in the darkness of night limiting the audience ability to visually partake in the full cinematic experience.
My Rating: Well worth at least one watch; -3 1/2 Stars-. August 5, 2008
Joyride/Roadkill meets The Hitcher with some Mad Max thrown in.
So the plot goes: A psycho in his car a few years ago was running people down for fun. Then he got into an accident and is now mostly prothetic limbed. But he still gets his thrills out of running people down and murdering them.
This man runs down a woman, who has her own past demons with cars, and she ends up joining up with Rennie Cray, man whose wife was run down by the killer and he has been seeking his revenge since. Together they end up chasing this killer in his car down, avoiding the police and go on an action packed suspense ride to the Bates motel.
Overall, it isn't much on the plot side, its more a thrilling entertainment story, not gory or bloody or anything, but overall a decent movie.
It's a little bit of "Joyride/Roadkill" with "Hitcher" and some elements of a "Mad Max" road chase. If you enjoyed those movies, you may just like this one.

Death Race 2000
predictable action flick
It is suprising that there are not better car chase scenes in a movie that centers on the road. The movie also failed to provide any great twists to the plot that might keep one guessing.
If you don't mind simple action movies, then you may like this film. It is the epitomy of cheeseburger cinema. September 17, 2007
