About Six: The Mark Unleashed

In the last days before Armageddon, a brutal dictator rules the Earth. Using high-tech surveillance from satellites through a sophisticated chip implant, the Community Police Force infiltrates every facet of human existence, tracing each physical and digital footprint left behind. For humanity, freedom is just a found memory and defiance means death. Two political prisoners (David White, Kevin Downes) meet a mysterious stranger (Stephen Baldwin) who holds the key to their escape and mankind's survival. Unbeknownst to the prisoners, CPFR agents broker a deal with an inmate (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) for his life in exchange for betraying Christian renegades. These three unlikely allies must escape the executioner's blade, thwart a manhunt by elite CPF operatives (Amy Moon, Brad Heller) and join forces with the world's most wanted fugitive: the leader of the resistance (Cosimo Michael). If they fail, huminity will be marked fro death, the resistance will collapse and every last life will have been taken by the enemy.

As my title states, this movie presents an interesting interpretation of end time events. The acting isn't great, but the biblical theology is pretty good with a couple of interesting side stories. Probably not one you'd have for your personal library, but worth renting if nothing else is in. October 10, 2007

Sometimes it hurts. I read these reviews of "angry" people and wonder why they ever watched this movie in the first place? I read another review that gave a very intelligent observation. If you don't want to watch it don't. As that reviewer stated and I restate here, I wouldn't watch a movie on things I don't agree or identify with. I never watched "Broke Back Mountain", for instance because it just isn't for me. I never watched it knowing that, to then write a scathing review to top it off.

Then I realized some of them watched it as "their" chance. Yes, we all have our chance. We will all hear the word of God and have to make a choice. Believe, or don't believe.

With all of that said, I believe many of those that have watched this movie and are so angry about it were meant to watch it. We all have the opportunity to find Jesus and we all have free will to make that choice on our own. Those so angry about this film have been touched by it and realize they are now forced to choose. This angers them and they are not ready to make that choice.

As far as the movie goes, it was much better than I expected after reading some of "those" reviews, and if you proclaim to be a Christian, I would recommend that you watch it TODAY! If you are not a Christian and wonder what it is all about, this film will not answer all of your questions, and will likely leave you with more questions. It will however leave you with the knowledge that you now have a choice to make, and if you need to do some research to make that choice, do it NOW. Find a church, seek advice, and I will Pray that you choose life. Choose Free Will. Choose Freedom. Choose Jesus!

rating: 5 QuoteGood Christian movie with the gospel message clearly statedQuote
First, Stephen Baldwin delivers a great performance here. I was most impressed with the fact that 1. They state the name of Jesus Christ as the savior of the world, which a lot of so-called Christian movies have somehow moved away from and 2. It is as accurate representation of the tribulation period as any, so those of you that mock and live to see this if it happens in your lifetime, this film might serve a purpose for you then.

Good movie to watch with your unsaved friends. July 4, 2007

rating: 2 QuoteIt's "come to you-know-who" time.Quote
This film is billed as science fiction and it is. It is, however, a very heavy-handed and almost continuous message for salvation via you-know-who. Not surprisingly it is produced by one of the major church organizations. A competent cast including one of the ever-present Baldwins, and if you either are sympathetic to the constantly repeated message or can avoid letting it get in your way, a moderately enjoyable sci-fi flick.
