About American Perfekt
Brilliant actor Robert Forster (JACKIE BROWN and MEDIUM COOL) plays a psychotic psychiatrist who bases all his decisions on the flip of a coin including whether or not to murder someone. He picks up a woman (Amanda Plummer; "Honey Bunny" in PULP FICTION) in the desert after she's been run off the road then later gives her beautiful hitch-hiking younger sister (Fairuza Balk of THE ISLAND OF DR. MOREAU and PERSONAL VELOCITY) a ride. Paul Sorvino (BERT D'ANGELO and GOODFELLAS; father of Mira) plays a sheriff in desperate pursuit with Chris Sarandon (ex-husband of Susan; THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS) as his beleaguered deputy.System Requirements:Running Time: 100 Mins.Format: DVD MOVIE Genre: HORROR Rating: R UPC: 084296406579 Manufacturer No: 40657 Product Description

Robert Forster plays a VERY unusual "serial" killer who moves through life forcasting all his moves by flipping a magic coin (hmmm, 'No Country For Old Men' anyone?).
The movie veiwer is never sure what he might do when he does this. His demeanor is so cool and collected (a sophisticated, down'n out car salesman type) as he wanders about and links up with a few travellers along the way (who HAVE NO IDEA).
All the characters' ponder their hardships (with life in general) before meeting up with the Forster character...and then while in his company listen to his homegrown (and heartfelt) philosophical insights as he "coin flips" through their shared adventures.
The "coin" analogy plays throughout the movie as it balances the ideas of "Chance vs Fate" and wether the folks who meet up with him know the difference in their own lives.
Great psychological thriller! April 22, 2008
