I am an ardent admirer of Scott Glenn and will watch anything he makes. This is a film for father and son bonding, plus the storyline while not a terrific one is none the less entertaining. November 11, 2006

This is the type of film you will either like, or not. I happen to think the film is much better than some of the reviews, and without a doubt, the killer in the film is one of the most disturbing ever witnessed on film. While I am not a fan of "Silence of the Lambs," or "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" this film I found to be very, very good. Probably because it doesn't give another predictable plot which become tedious after awhile. Moreover, it is the character of FBI agent Broderick (Scott Glenn) whose portrayal of a profiler of serial killers, that makes this a great film. And as I wrote earlier, it is different.

The story centers on a man about to be executed in the state of Utah for child killing. The state believes that they have the killer, and even though agent Broderick does not think he is the killer, the state is going to proceed anyway. After the execution, evidence is brought to light that the man may have been innocent. Agent Broderick, who along with his son Jesse, (Cameron-Glickenhaus) a computer-whiz and extremely intelligent boy set out to find the killer. Now this part is a little implausible, but if you watch the film, you can see how this bright young boy could do what he does [A little suspension of disbelief may be required]

The point is, they find out who is doing the killings. At least the boy does. And this killer is demented and is building an Ark in the mountains of Mount Zion National Park in which to await the next flood. The killer is sociopathic and homicidal to the nth degree. He once belonged to a fringe religious cult, and decided to leave it in order to build his Ark, an collect children and animals to place in this Ark. It is really sickening to what extremes he goes through. In his mind, he must collect everything as Noah did, or the flood will not occur. Hence the child-killings. But they must be the right children. It is very bizarre and disturbing--I have never seen a film quite like this before. [Stars: 4.5] October 2, 2006

Huh. This was certainly an interesting movie, although not the best of the psychological-thriller drama. I actually played a minute role (Kristi Collins) and remember the whole production and premis as very scary, but also very sophisticated. Twelve or so years later, I find this movie a bit disjointed. Still, it is well worth the buck fifty to check it out from a small town video store and watch. That is, if one is not looking for something too intellectually taxing. July 20, 2004

This movie is a classic. It will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Scott Glenn is superb as the detective and his character son, 11 year old Jessie, is impressive.
This story can be non fictional. There's a lot of demented people out there today.
This maniac that they are pursuing is so twisted. He is a monster. The things he does is horrifying. And the ending is a shocker. This film is becoming hard to find. Get it before it's too late. April 6, 2004

I haven't seen this movie in a while, in most part, because I couldn't find it. Anyway, I saw it a long time ago and it was so cool. I was around 13, and an avid horror movie watcher. I was never nervous to watch any type of horror around my parents, until this movie. This movie is pretty gory and very entertaining. It is very nerve racking and pretty suspenseful.
