I was disappointed in this film, it's basically a movie about old folks who come from another palnet to visit earth and act like kids. I suppose a movie about old folks acting young is one thing but what does that have to do with outer space. I guess the point is that earths old folks need space aliens to start acting and feeling young?

I was disappointed in this movie. I feel it just doesn't compare. It was lame.

February 8, 2007 | | Good acting from oldsters, but bad directing and writing
To get complete enjoyment from this film, DO NOT try to put it into context with the original. The acting from the oldsters was brillant. However, Tahnee Welch seemed to force her self to act convingly, that she wasnt very convincing. The film has its glory moments, Like the hospital scene. And the scene where the seniors and the alien steal the alien from the oceanolgy institute. The hospital scene was very well done, but messed up the intended illusion from the first film. Infact the entire movie messed up the illusion of the first. That illusion was that these people were going to space to live forever. Not that illusion is gone. Wacth this if you want good acting, but for a good story, DONT.
October 7, 2006 | | Not as good as the original but I've seen worse sequels
The suprise is known so the jig is up. As the old people return to earth for a visit, earth's atmosphere takes it's toll on their frail bodies. I'm glad they didn't do a cocoon 3 I noticed Ron Howard didn't direct this one but most of the original cast was back even Brian Dennahey who was just in the last 3 minutes of the picture ( he probably wanted too much money) It wasen't bad, but it just didn't live up to the energy and awe of the first movie. Enjoy!
