Perhaps Mr Kerr should be reviewing things more suiting him such as phone books, encyclopedias, or dictionaries. July 6, 2008

While this movie is touted as the "Sister Act" of the 80's, it is really much more subdued and subtle in its message. The cast is strong, especially the late Suzanne Pleshette and Cloris Leachmann. It does have a bit of that "made for TV" feel to it (especially scene breaks), but it doesn't suffer from the lack of character or plot development that many of them do (ala Hallmark Hall of Fame). I have enjoyed the simplicity of the story and the several "feel good" moments throughout the show: the birth of the baby sheep and the rendition of "Bridge over troubled water" by one of the sisters. Some may think that this movie is lame by today's standards, but I enjoyed watching it as much now as I did in the 1980's and I can't say that about a lot of television from the 1980's. Certainly well worth the paltry price so I'm giving it 5 stars for quality acting/script and price.

P.S. There is a small problem with the sound at one point in the movie, but the dialogue isn't affected - it just sounds like they were using a sound activated microphone. The problem only lasts about a minute and doesn't affect the overall enjoyment of the movie. April 10, 2008

Nuns and hookers -- the perfect combination for this silly TV comedy movie about Dixi, owner of a bordello who is convicted by a judge to be in the custody of Sister Eugenio and Sister Agnes at the convent. Of course, lifestyles clash and lessons are to learned by all before the sentence is up.

The cast is good, and the DVD offers a few laughs in this escapist comedy. December 28, 2007

a truly tragicocomic tale of a displaced traditional sister adrift in the tumultuous epoch of changes which overtook many American Roman Catholic religious communities in the raging wake of Vatican II. Ms Pleshette is a veritably peripathetic protagonist searching for a relevant and conventual identity amid the vicissitudes of her fluid circumstance. the technical parameters of this dvd are remarkable.
