rating: 5 QuoteThe Price of AdmissionQuote
Other reviewers have commented on the many, many highlights of this incredible concert. Although trite, I can honestly say that any one of the following cuts is well worth the price of admission: What's the Frequency,Kenneth?, Daysleeper, Bad Day, Losing My Religion, Imitation of Life, It's the End of the World, and the real show-stopper -- M. Stripe's personal favourite -- an absolutely amazing version of Country Feedback. With the band currently on tour, I am sure there will be a renewed interest in their videos. This is a 'keeper' that will not disappoint. June 24, 2008

I've watched this concert many times now and it gets better every time. Well worth twice the price, its my personal favorite concert dvd. Set in a beautiful outdoor park in Weisbaden, Germany, REM with Michael Stipe performs all their hits and some new that are a bonus. For example, So Fast, So Numb.. an incredible gem which I had not heard before has now become a favorite. This concert dvd is a treat for both sight and sound. My only complaint is I wish I had been there. Buy it.. you will soon thank me. April 27, 2008

Incredible range of hits from early stuff all the way to the most recent albums. My complaint is the camera work! The shot is constantly changing, never on a subject for more than 3-4 seconds. Not enought Stipe and too many random fan shots. Great music, terrible camera work. January 28, 2008

Well, as we all know R.E.M. stands for "rapid eye movement", i.e., the eye movement one makes when in a dream. So, who ever provided the credits to this movie was in a dream. The cover refers clearly to an REM (the 1980's an on alternative rock group) DVD but the credits refer to a gay male pornographic movie. Hmmm. How did that happen? November 21, 2007

rating: 4 QuoteSolid concert, can be enjoyed by everyone, not just REM fans!Quote
* The concert is in 16x9 anamorphic picture format (ideal for people with widescreen, but plays nicely on 4:3 TVs as well either letterboxed or full-screen-but-cropped edges by adjusting your tv or dvd player), with 26 chapters, 23 of which are songs. Concert duration: 105 minutes long. The Concert has a Subtitles option in five languages but the subtitles are only when Stipe speaks to the crowd (eg introducing songs). There are no subtitles when they are singing (no lyrics as subtitles).

* REM has been around for a while, and in this concert dvd they blend hit songs along with some rare and fan favorite songs, so please don't be disappointed if some of your favorite songs are not included. They could have easily made a 4-hour concert DVD and still not included everyone's favorites. They have so many good songs!

* Bonus documentary: "A Stirling performance" , 38 minutes long, in 4x3 picture format. The documentary does not have any chapters, it's just one title/chapter. The documentary also has a Subtitles option when people are speaking, but no subtitles for lyrics/songs. It chronicles the band's 1999 concert in Scotland at the Stirling Castle. It is a blend of behind the scenes footage and concert footage, but I would classify it as a music documentary of a concert (as opposed to a concert). February 5, 2007
