This beer movie has a great story about it. It was more about the adventures than anything else.
February 9, 2008NOTE**** - Does not make a good Christmas gift for your boss. Don't find out the hard way!
January 19, 2008This is reagenomics at it's height. There were alot of good ole boy comedies out in the late 70's and early 80's. I enjoyed it.
August 16, 2007This was one of my favorite 80's movies. Robert Hayes of Airplane! fame is a white collar buisnessman who was asked by his boss to turn around this brewery where he (Hayes) grew up. He quickly finds out that his old childhood friends are still there as well as is lady love. The lady who owns the motel is hillarious with her one lines," I have one line for them," Screw Em." Art Carney is the owner of the brewery who sees Hayes return. When the brewery goes automatic with the use of computers and machines, the workers revolt sort of. Hayes begins to alienate his best buddies but then soon learns friendship as well as his conscience outways greed and stupidity. Anyone who likes outrighjt comedies with not too much going on, this is a great movie. It sticks to one plot and just keeps on going. Great laughs and a terrific cast (Robert Hayes, Martin Mull, Art Carney, David Keith (From Firestarter) just to name a few).
July 29, 2007I may not be a professional critic, but I know this much, if you're a real Charlie Rich fan you will enjoy this film. He may not have much reel time in this, but what he does have is worth the price of the film. Although he isn't seated behind his piano in this flick, he is given a chance at some good old fashioned slap-stick, and breaks up in the middle of one scene that has him being blasted by two huge water hoses. As for the rest of the film, if you like The Dukes of Hazzard, you'll love this. I don't, but I love Charlie Rich, so I was happy.
