The least of the three for me
Herbert West(Jeffrey Combs) returns to once again wreak havoc with his reanimation formula. This time he has a new assistant and they lose control in a prison. Everything the first two did right, this one missed the mark to a certain degree. With the exception of Combs performance, the acting was pretty bad. I also lost interest in the plot and only looked forward to the gore. Which it does deliver on at times.
Overall I didn't find this to be a horrible movie. It had its moments but I doubt this will ever get frequent watches from me. The first two are classics that I know I can see at anytime. This one will most likely get lost in my collection somewhere. I feel fans of the first two should give this a try anyway. July 27, 2008
Move your dead bones, bones, bones...re-animate your feet...
*The music video on this disc is the most ridiculously hilarious thing I've ever seen in my life (see title^^), only Lions Gate would inlude such a thing as a special feature. Worth the price alone just for the laughs. April 8, 2008
Thankfully, the last "Re-animator"
There's not much of a story at all, but the effects are alright this time, if nothing else. For some reason, everyone speaks English with a strange type of Spanish accents; I guess it's cheaper to make movies in Spain. Also, why all the gore and the nudity? It adds nothing to the film, filling it with blood only made me sick since I was eating while I watched it. Combs is funny sometimes in his role as Dr. West, but even he isn't enough to save this wreck.
All in all, a few amusing scenes, but not something you should waste your time with. This has about as much to do with H. P. Lovecraft's "Re-animator" as the two previous films. Too bad people are allowed to make such distortions of great tales and books; the semitically correct film version of LOTR comes to mind. October 15, 2007
