About Initial D - Battle 3 - Challenge, Night Kids

A new challenger appears in the form of Team Night Kids’ Takeshi "Zack" Nakazato. While the rest of the Speed Stars are understandably excited, Tak refuses to accept the challenge since he does not consider himself a street racer. With the scheduled race fast approaching, Tak begins to realize that he just may have what it takes to go head to head with the unbeatable GT-R despite the odds.

TOKYOPOP doesn't know anime and transform it into uglyness (change score, characters' names, cut scenes, etc...). Pioneer at least keep the original score and characters' names for their animes. September 3, 2005

I just saw this movie a while ago, and now, I'm like hooked. It is just sooooo good!! Admittedly, I didn't like the ending, but overall, it was fabulous!! August 16, 2005

Originally I saw Initial D back 2 years ago..the Japanese version with english subtitles. Let me tell you, even that was awesome at that time. But it really takes away from the show. Well low and behold they have finally translated it to English. The voices sound like who they really are not all old like the Japanese version. Soundtrack is alright.. more hiphop but if you want you can customize your ride during the DVD menu and hear the better Japanese soundtrack. After you watch this you will think Quarter mile is so stone aged. Drifting is the latest trend. INITIALIIIIIIZE!!!! September 6, 2004

Although this isn't one of the best series I've seen, since it's so cheap it's worth it just for the racing scenes (which admittadly are few and far between). The story is average, the non-racing animation isn't that great, and Takumi's friend Iggy is just plain annoying (especially in the dub). Don't look for too much action, there's a lot of re-hashing the same scenes over and over, but with all that said I'd still recommend it. The small part of the series that actually is racing is amazing! February 13, 2004

The first 2 episodes (7 & 8) on this DVD are just basically the set up for episode 9 in which Takumi races the GT-R. All the episodes were great. Takumi coming to realize that he may have a love for racing. Natsuki letting her feelings for Takumi show more. Takumi's dad Bunta and his boss at the gas station Yuichi plotting to get him fired up about racing. This is a great series and anyone who is a fan of racing should pick Initial D up. There are two problems with this and all the Initial D DVD's by TOKYOPOP are that the episode quantity on each DVD is too low and the release time between DVD's is WAY too long. TOKYOPOP if you are out there please bump up the episode count and bring the DVD's out once a month. February 13, 2004
