I am learning Spanish on my own so I have been watching a lot of Spanish language movies lately. This film has high production values, good color, a wholesome storyline form the days when movies were made of clerics without needing a scandal to sustain interest. Cantinflas has a lighthearted way about him that makes it clear why he became a star. English subtitles, if you need them, are available. January 17, 2006

In this movie Mario plays a new priest that has been sent to a town to practice. When he arrives he doesnt recieve such a great welcome because the towns people and the old priests' family thinks he was sent to take over the church. Through out the movie you'll find out how Cantinflas wins everyone over with his many great attributes. February 16, 2005

rating: 5 QuoteCantinflas portrays a priest with unconditional love for allQuote
I saw this movie when I was a little girls in the USA. Cantinflas portrays a priest who has been transfered to a new town after finishing his training. His unconditional love for this town and the people help him to reach out towards troubled marriages and teens. If you are wondering if there could really be such a person, the answer is yes. I met him when I was a little girl in Mexico and to really know what he is like, just watch this movie. He is exactly like "El Padrecito." February 6, 1999
