Eddie Izzard is easily my favorite comedian.

But circle, was dissappointing, but I'm going to give Izzard a break. "Unrepeatable" "Definite Article" and "Glorious" were performed in England. And in front of his type of crowd (an english crowd) He's a riot. Because he's an englishman, He talks english, so english people get him. "Dress To Kill" was in San Fransisco. And it was a freaking riot. So Eddie Izzard in New York doing "Circle" should be amazing shouldn't it?

Well, within the first 5 minutes of the show there is a heckler and that throws his rhythm off for the entire night. He start bumbling through his show and tripping over his thoughts but not in the charming way that he does in "Dress To Kill". The crowd is kind of silent and when the crowd is silent Eddie resorts to making fun of the fact that he isn't making them laugh and that just digs his hole deeper. The Death Star Canteen was funny, but it could've been so much better. The entirety of the show is a far cry from what he is capable of and he looked uncomfortable and intimidated throughout. If you adore Eddie Izzard you can't help but love the man, but if you want to laugh your kiester off, I'd try any other Izzard DVD. May 17, 2008

I love this dvd. I was first introduced to Eddie Izzard's work when I saw his dvd of Dress to Kill and then I couldn't get enough of him. I took this dvd with me to my aunt's house for an extended visit last year and let her borrow it after I left. It took her awhile to tell me that it had been lost, so I've had to buy a second copy. Oh Well! It is my favorite of all his performances (and now I have them all.) If it turns up, they'll have a great dvd to keep. My 13 year old cousin can all but quote the whole show from memory. I can recommend this dvd to anyone who loves Eddie Izzard or to new viewers who just want to laugh really hard for about 2 hours straight. February 13, 2008

We are huge Eddie Izzard fans, have all his cd's and dvd's of concerts, have seen him live twice, love The Riches, but..... This dvd concert is not up to his usual genius. It is funny in parts but he seems disinterested, distracted and almost annoyed with the show. So was I. June 12, 2007

Eddie Izzard has to be just about the best comic around. My upper division English teacher in college showed us some of "Dress to Kill," and the class was cracking up. I watch everything of his I can get my hands on. April 21, 2007

Eddie Izzard is the best comedian of this age, no doubt.
Is he smart? Yeah! Does he make you laugh for hours? Yeah!

The point is his intellectual capacity and quality makes his show even more interesting. Comedians are observes I belive, they observe things. Think of one and only Jerry Seinfeld. He is funny, he has lots of things to say about anything. So does Eddie. But Eddie loves to talk about politics, history, war, humanity etc. He sure observes moreover he reads, he writes, he questions, he searhes. Well, it's not a piece of cake make jokes about latin empire! This is what I like most about him. He is cultivated. You may get a quick survey to history and politcs; little details about daily life in Eddie style of comments and gestures.

The show "Circle" has cultivated smart funny stories.
You can come across with James Mason, Sean Connery, Jesus, The English and of course Hitler.
He sure gives more than you want....with a fantastic make up! :) March 27, 2007
