Slash (2002)

Meet Slash, a rock band on the edge of fame, fortune and now death itself. At the moment, they’re on the road to nowhere playing dingy clubs and smelly venues. But when the lead singer is called home for a family funeral, the band begins a helter-skelter spiral into madness. On one terrifying night, the band realizes the truth behind a family legend and fights to escape the horrifying "harvest of blood."

Are you kidding?!! Did we all see the same flick?!

I am astonished by the high ratings of this crapfest I could only enjoy on drugs. But why should I? This is amazon after all, so I should be use to this by now. Maybe I should have sparked up first. That way I could have probably seen what these other people saw. Thats if they're even being honest to begin with.

The story is a small band is trying to make it big. The lead singer has a death in his family and he takes his band with him to a the farm he came from. There people start getting wacked for the most ridiculous reason there is.

The acting is not even really that great. In fact its pretty lame. You can clearly see when the main character walks into the room to see his dead relative. Her foot actually moves slightly. Maybe a fly landed on her during the filming. The script follows the basic formula and is retarded for the most part. Now I do know most horror movies don't require much thought anyway but come on atleast try to make the movie entertaining. The very first death happens in like the first 5 minutes. Which horror movie this doesn't happen in anymore?

I saw good character development mentioned. Where? In this movie? Are you talking about the same stereotypical black guy that curses for almost nothing and this time packing a gun he can't even fire right? Or the same none chick magnet geek with a camcorder trying to score and every body bullies? If thats what your talking about...Oookkkkk.

After the very first death scene, there is not a single good one after that. There's no creepiness or even a bit of suspense. This movie just didn't do it for me at all. This was actually the low point of my halloween to be honest. This is mostly to my amazon horror buddies. Don't waste your time with this. Check out something else. November 2, 2007

I inquired of Amazon if they had any (ahem) "product" of my favorite actress, Melanie Anton. They directed me to this movie. Is she in it? What does she do? She's not one of the "victims" is she? January 20, 2006

DECENT ENOUGH

Ah, Blockbuster, the perfect place to find that perfect slasher flick for the whole family. Slash is one of those rare movies that is so bad, it's actually good! A blah rock band named...go ahead...guess...Slash, is performing at some rundown, no-name nightclubs. Suddenly, a relative of one of the members dies, so the whole band heads out to BFE/hometown of the band member, for the funeral. But little does the rest of the band know that one of them has a horrible secret. As a boy, one of them accidentally set his father on fire after discovering he's a cold-blooded killer, and he's been traumatized by it ever since. And to top it all off, someone in scarecrow drag and wearing a metal mask, is offing them (in particularly bloodless ways) one-by-one. Face it, people, this isn't Saw...heck, it's not even Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2, it's just a fun horror flick for you and your buddies to rent and watch late at night. reccomended. Heavy riffs and Gravity defying solos can't make up for Slash"s uptight acting!

PLOT: Slash gets mad at axle and goes on a murderous killing spree. Then he does some pretty intense guitar solos. SOLOS:5 STAR ACTING:1 STAR

Great Horror

A couple of weeks ago in a video store, My sister and I stumbled upon this movie. We are both fans of horror, so we figued, what the hey. We got it and watched it the second we got home. From the first frame to the last, we were almost in a trance. We laughed and laughed at the death scenes. The best aspect of this movie would have to be the music. I only wish direct to video horror movies have soundtracks. I give this an A+++ for originality and scariness. June 17, 2005
