Brock Lesnar debuted on our TV screens on March 22nd 2002 in which he interrupted a match and destroyed Al Snow, Spike Dudley and Maven. The man was accompanied by Paul Heyman and I think all wrestling fans around the world, when watching that moment all thought "What The F**k?" After a few weeks and a few more match interruptions, we came to learn his name and the title that Heyman gave him of The Next Big Thing. The title was one of the only true titles that have ever been given to a wrestler, much like The Most Electrifying Man in sports entertainment for The Rock. Within the space of only two years, Brock became one of the biggest names in professional wrestling and won some of the most prestigious titles and matches in their history. He was the 2002 King of the Ring, he won the WWE Undisputed Title at Summerslam 2002 and won the 2003 Royal Rumble.

This DVD chronicles the most influential moment in Brocks very short WWE career and I'm sure will give any old school fan a pleasant nostalgic look at what once was. He was the true unstoppable force and this DVD shows how he went from NCAA champion to one of the fastest rising stars in WWE history.

Match List:

1. Vs Hulk Hogan 08/08/2002 This wasn't an overly great wrestling match but it set in stone the sheer indestructibility of Brock as he completely brutalised Hogan.

2. Vs The Rock Summerslam '02 The rising star vs. the biggest star in sports entertainment. A very exciting back and forth match which really had me surprised at the reaction of the crowd.

3. Vs Undertaker Hell In A Cell No Mercy '02 Easily one of the best ever hell in a cell matches which had both superstars brutalise each other to the point of no return.

4.Vs Kurt Angle Wrestlemania XIX Easily one of the best Wrestlemania Main Events in its history. It was back and forth, genuine wrestling action with a lot of mat work. Oh and the infamous Lesnar Shooting Star Press.

5. Vs Big Show Stretcher Match Judgement Day '03 Brock will always be known as the guy that challenged Big Show on a physical level. Rather than Show being the one to throw Brock around, a lot of the time in their matches it was the other way around. This also had a really cool ending.

6.Vs Big Show Smackdown 06/12/2003 Easily one of the best matches to ever take place on a Smackdown program. Again it's a match challenging for Big Show as in order to keep up with Brock he needs to work harder than he ever has. This also has the famous ring collapse at the end which is something to be experienced and a genuine surprise for any viewer.

If you're a fan of WWE and their history, then this is a DVD that showcases the best in their modern history. The only bad thing is the lack of special features, some along the lines of his OVW matches or special commentaries etc. would have made this DVD that much more special. August 24, 2008

rating: 4 QuoteGood DVD, good matches too...Quote
-This DVD was released about 1 1/2 years after Brock's debut and it's okay on the documentary side, with a few good highlights, like Lesnar's childhood and his college wrestling career, with comments from his friends and family. Also clips of his debut and his matches against, The Hardy Boyz, Rob Van Dam, The Rock, The Undertaker, The Big Show and Kurt Angle among others are shown throughout this doc. feature. There were plenty of comments from guys like, The Hurricane, Booker T, Kurt Angle, The Big Show, Gerald Brisco, Brooklyn Brawler and Paul Heyman among others. Brock seemed to have a bit of an ego, whenever he talked, not that I blame him given the push he received. The fearue is short though, only maybe 60 minutes, if that. 7/10, for the doc. for what it was. It's funny though how many guys say Brock will be the future of wrestling and he left about 8 months after this was released.

-The matches themselves are pretty cool, six in all.

-vs. Hulk Hogan: Smackdown 8/8/02-Somewhat of a squash, Hogan hulked up and tried to beat down Brock, but Brock ended up beating Hogan with a vicous bearhug that caused Hogan to bleed internally, though you could clearly see Hogan chewing the blood capsule right before he started bleeding. Decent match, 7/10, nice post-match with Brock busting Hogan open with a steel chair and rubbing the blood of the Hulkster on his chest like a badge of honor.

-vs. The Rock for the Undisputed Championship at Summerslam '02: Great main event, loved how the crowd turned on The Rock and started cheering Lesnar quite loudly. Rock tries to beat Brock with various takedowns and submission moves, but Lesnar fights back and hits plenty of moves, including a nice ring based bearhug on Rock, that's when the crowd really started to chant for Lesnar. The finish comes when Lesnar counters a Rock Bottom and swings Rock into an F-5 for the pinfall to become the new Undisputed Champion. Major league pop for the finish. 10/10.

-vs. The Undertaker: Hell in a Cell Match for the WWE (formerly Undisputed) Championship at No Mercy '02: Brutal, bloody and fantastic HIAC match. Undertaker does a great job making Lesnar look good and Lesnar holds his own inside the demonic cell. Some good brawling throughout, Taker gets the upperhand on Lesnar on a few occasions, but Lesnar ends up using the steel steps to the head of Taker, which really, I mean really busts him open. Taker gushes blood for the rest of the match, but fights back and almost beats Lesnar, then goes the for Tombstone, but Lesnar reverses it into a Tombstone and then hoists Taker onto his shoulders and hits the F-5 for the win to retain the WWE title. 11/10.

-vs. Kurt Angle for the Undisputed Championship at Wrestlemania XIX: Great main event, great wrestling, just great everything. Plenty of submission moves are used by both men and each one almost has the other beat on numerous occasions. Loved the fact that Angle went totally gung-ho during the match, despite the fact that he needed neck surgery. Lesnar goes for a shooting star press and doesn't quite get the distance to hit Angle and Lesnar seems to jack his neck really, really, really bad, then Angle goes for the cover but Brock kicks out and somehow hits an F-5 on Angle, the third of the match for the win, to become the WWE champion for the second time. 11/10. On a side note, being from Washington, this PPV was in Seattle, Wa., and when I saw this live on PPV I honestly thought as did the crowd that Lesnar had broken his neck and after the match he didn't look like he knew where he was.

-vs. Big Show: Stretcher Match for the WWE Championship at Judgement Day: Great hard hitting match, both men put on a good show. The stretcher is used and sounds like it hurts really bad. Show almost has Lesnar beat, but somehow Lesnar beats down Show, goes to the back and gets a forklift, brings it to ringside jumps off of it and hits a nice clothesline over the top rope into the ring on Show. How Lesnar can lift the Big Show in a suplex and especially the F-5 is beyond me, but Lesnar ends up knocking out Show and puts him up on the forklift and wheels it over the yellow line near the entrance way to retain the WWE title. 9/10.

-vs. Big Show for the WWE Championship at Smackdown 6/12/03: This was a good main event to the end the show, but it's basically the same as other matches they've had before. Man, those chops from Show sound like they hurt. The finish comes when Big Show goes to the top rope, Lesnar follows and superplexes Show down to the mat, which causes the ring to implode, thus ending the match in a no contest. Major league pop for the finish, 9/10, for the finish mainly.

-Other extras include two WWE Confidential pieces:

-Training for Summerslam: Brock's training methods to get warmed-up, in shape and cool down. That 180 lb. log lift he does while running is scary as is the ice bath he takes to cool down after his workout, which the water is about 35 degrees.

-Summerslam Expierence: Talks about Lesnar going into the biggest match at that point in his career at Summerslam '02. His thoughts, Heyman's thoughts, clips of the match are included as well as Lesnar's parents thoughts on how the match went.

Overall this is a good DVD to have, again the documentary isn't too bad, just short and the matches are well worth the purchase alone, if you don't have them on other DVD's that is. Worth about $8-10 dollars, in my opinion. March 27, 2007

The beginning of the dvd is a rehash segment from before they were superstars dvd. Then it goes into his career. I like Brock Lesner in this dvd. He still looks motivated in the disk and giving it his all. After the matches on this dvd is when he starts not looking the same. Overall the WWE product has been going the same direction. I liked the extras, especially the ones from confidential. I say it is a good buy. January 28, 2007
