Cliff Richard EP (2003)

A Complete Rip-off!

As a big Cliff fan, when I saw that the "Cliff Richard Plus The Shadows" Special Edition EP DVD was being sold here in the USA, all I could think of was how great it was that a DVD of his greatest hits was finally being sold here. Aside from DVDs of his films (which have only become available in the last year or two), VHS cassettes or DVDs of his music - whether it be music videos, concert footage or old TV show clips - cannot be found here in the USA. And forget about ordering VHS cassettes or DVDs that are sold in the UK - they're not compatible with our respective NTSC or Region 1 formats, though they can be copied to our formats for a pretty penny.

I ordered the DVD, and what did it consist of? TWO songs by Cliff ("Dreamin'" and "Wired For Sound") and ONE song by the Shadows ("Equinoxe, Part V"). The rest of the DVD contained a mix of different songs by various artists, including Procol Harum and Placido Domingo. While I don't mean any disrespect to the other artists on this DVD, I feel it's deceptive (not to mention criminal) that the distributor of this DVD, ClassicPictures, should sell off a DVD like this, giving the impression that it's only a Cliff and the Shadows DVD when it isn't. I even wonder if Cliff is aware of this. If he is and he gave his full blessing for the release of this DVD with his name on it, then shame on him for misleading his US fans. But I'll still love his music, anyway. September 16, 2003

Not worth it

This is promotion DVD for a variety of artists, only a couple of Cliff Richard and the Shadows. This is not a concert. The title is very misleading. April 17, 2003
