Forget that Speed 2 doesn't beat Speed. Forget that Keanu Reeves doesn't return as Jack Traven. What matters it this: Sandra Bullock is great, William DaFue is just as great, and Jason Patric is also pretty good! The visuals are nothing special, but are still entertaining and enjoyable to watch. It's not a visual feast, like Speed 1, but it most certainly is a suspenseful thriller with some really good acting. I've always like Sandra Bullock, and this just widened my liking of her. Jan De Bont is great with these action films, and although it doesn't match the witty action and suspense of the first movie, it still is a great choice for keeping your heart racing and your adrenaline pumping. This movie, although not perfect, is pretty close! Speed came near the brink of perfection, and Speed 2 took a step back, even though it was just a baby step. Sandra Bullock reprises her role, and does so fantastically, though Keanu Reeves isn't there this time, and Jason Patric is filling his shoes this time around. He does so acceptably, and although he's not terrific, he's not unbearably painful to watch either.

The action scenes make up for the loss of Keanu Reeves, and William DaFue also makes a nice villain, with his evil eyes and tone of voice. Bullock seems to have a better grip on things this time, as she is definitely more helpful this time around, elbowing criminal's in the face and sawing through doors instead of having a criminal strap bombs to her chest. In my opinion, although it's clear that nothing can beat the first Speed, Speed 2 still gives us some pretty good entertainment, despite its very minor flaws. August 6, 2008

Although this movie takes a little while to get moving, once it sets off, there's no turning back! This movie is hard to keep your eyes off of, mainly due to the air-tight action scenes and splendid acting, mainly due to Sandra Bullock and William DaFue (Jason Patric isn't horrible, he just isn't as good as Keanu Reeves).

This movie is filled with some really cool scenes, such as the scene where Jason has to save the deaf girl from the flooding and when the ship is crashing through the town! Sandra Bullock made me laugh out loud many times throughout the film, and in my opinion, is much better this time around!

Although it doesn't live up to Speed 1, Speed 2 is a definite must to add to your DVD collection, for you action lovers out there! When it comes to an action movie, we care more about explosions than we do about the storyline, and Speed 2 accomplishes this amazingly well!

Great acting. Great story line. Great direction. Great visuals. Great movie. Great Sandra Bullock.

Speed 2: Cruise Control.

(If you can't interpret that, it means that I highly recommend this film). August 6, 2008

Amazing.

These words are basically perfect for describing this film. I have heard so many people give this movie crap, and I don't appreciate that! Really, I don't see what the fuss is about! If you wanted a movie that was better than the first Speed, then you shouldn't have seen this in the first place! Of course it's not going to live up to the first Speed! You just have to acknowledge that, and after that... it's time to move on and enjoy Speed 2 for what it really is: an adrenaline racing, heart pumping, suspenseful movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat! Just because a movie doesn't add up to its predecessor, does NOT make it a bad movie! Although Jason Patric doesn't have as much depth as I thought Keanu Reeves had, he still played the part pretty well... and as always, Sandra Bullock was phenomenal!

Basically, what I'm trying to say is... cut the crap about this movie not living up to Speed 1. Of course it isn't going too! After you have accepted that and moved on... then you can pop in Speed 2 and enjoy it for what it is and not for what it isn't! It isn't a movie that lives up to the predeccesor. It is a movie that is pretty dang good, with great acting and some amazing action scenes!

Accept that or don't see the movie. Plain and simple. August 6, 2008
