Matt/Christian and one BADDDD DRAGON!!!

Matt and Christian sharing a screen with one really bad azz male dragon, could a movie have anymore testosterone than that. The story was nicely done, FX nicely executed and the acting no less than great, I was completely satisfied with my decision to give this movie it's "day in court". I am purchasing a second copy of this dvd this week because cable chooses to exhaust me with next to impossible to enjoy movies repeating them over and over again and letting great movies like this sit on some shelf collecting dust. One of the better dragon movies ever made.

Not cheap or a so called B movie as some reviewers have claimed. In fact the film totes some of the most realistic of all CGI creature special effects. It is a bit of a testosterone fueled post apocalyptic dragon slaying film. Matthew McConaughey really shines here in his wild character portrayal. It is an entertaining film overall, and a well done and creative peice of science-fiction. In terms of dragon movies, Its in my top 3 being 1981's Dragonslayer, 1996's Dragonheart and 2002's Reign Of Fire. Good dragon movies are not easy to make and many are plagued with a fake or cheesy tinge. Reign Of Fire is pretty good quality. April 14, 2008

Good Cast-Interesting Movie

Reign of Fire brings to the screen the unlikely scenario that ash-eating dragons will take over the world and humanity will become near extinct as a result.
It is the year 2020 and an isolated community in England trying to survive in the dragon dominated world is visited by an American military force bound on bringing an end to the reign of reptiles...
Don't look for the movie to make any sense; it doesn't.
Christian Bale, Matthew McConaughey, Gerard Butler, Alexander Siddig (from Star Trek DS9!), the lovely Izabella Scorupco, and the rest of the cast carry out their performances well though the acting is nothing extraordinary.
The setting, the plot, the dialogues, the special effects, and the music are all good.
In a nutshell, it's probably not a movie you would want to add to your collection, but it will provide for an evening's entertainment. 3.5 Stars

Good movie, simple plot.

Long story short: Mad Max fights dragons.

* Kid stumbles into a dragon's lair in a pit where his mom is the project manager digging a tunnel. Mom is killed.

* Dragon escapes and breeds. Kills everyone on earth, as humans use nukes to try to kill them. Earth is devastated.

* Band of English survive, led by the kid who has grown up. They hide in the underground of a castle, and practice and prepare the kids (next generation) for dragon attacks. One male dragon (bull), hundreds of females.

* Band of Americans stumble upon English. Americans use high tech to try to kill dragons. English skeptical. Almost all Americans die.

* Surviving Americans and English unite at the end to kill the male dragon.

Special Effects: Very Good
Plot: Very Simplistic
